frequently asked questions
Do I have to pre-register for classes?
No. Walk-ins are welcome for all of our pre-scheduled weekly classes. However, pre-registering will ensure that you get a spot; some of our classes do fill up early. You can easily pre-register by visiting our Mindbody page here. Through our Mindbody link, you can also read class descriptions, instructors' bios, as well as make online purchases.
We do recommend that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes early in order to sign in, change your clothes and shoes, and prepare for a great class. For the safety of all dancers, late arrivals will not be allowed into class after 10 minutes have passed.
Do you offer private classes or workshops?
Yes. We can arrange personalized classes just for you or a group of your friends, whether as a jump-start or refresher class, focusing on anything from technique, turns, and jumps, to stretches, coordination, or choreography. Special group discounts available.
How much do classes cost?
The rate for regularly scheduled drop-in classes is $18. For more information on dates, times, pricing, and availability for private lessons, master classes, and workshops, please contact by email at studiodcfa@gmail.com.
Do you offer package deals?
Yes. We offer 10-class cards for $170 and 5-class cards for $85, both of which may be used for all drop-in classes, including ballet, lyrical, jazz, and tap, do NOT expire, and may be shared with friends and family members.
What should I wear?
We encourage you to wear comfortable clothes so that you can move freely. Standard dance attire or close-fitting clothing like yoga or exercise attire work well. We also recommend dressing in layers, so that your muscles will be warm enough, but you won’t be too hot. It is a good idea to avoid overly baggy clothes so that you and your instructor can see your body well enough to ensure proper alignment in all positions.
Footwear options vary by class and include ballet slippers, jazz shoes or dance sneakers, tap shoes, or gym sneakers that you do not wear outdoors. Socks alone can be too slippery and therefore unsafe. In order to protect our dance floor, street shoes may not be worn in the main dance studio at any time. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
What if I cannot make it to an appointment or an event that I pre-registered for?
We request that you notify us 24 hours prior to your class or workshop.
